    We are recruiting a Pitch Executive on a permanent basis to join a leading law firm. This is a London-based firm who offer a wide range of legal services

    The Pitch Executive reports to the Pitch Manager and work as part of the Pitch Team who sit within the wider Business Development Team advising on best practice throughout the pitch process from start to finish, managing responses, writing content and crafting pitch documents.

    They are looking for experience of the pitch/bids process, preferably in a professional services environment, gained from a pitch- focused role or a pitch-heavy business development role.

  • Business Development and Growth Manager

    I am currently working with a leading traffic management and highway maintenance company who is seeking a business development and growth manager to join their Northern business unit in this newly created role. This is a fantastic opportunity to join a business where you’ll have the freedom to make a real impact and play a vital part in their growth.

    You will come from the built environment (ideally a tier 1 or tier 2 contractor), have excellent relationship building and communication skills and have a proven track record of delivering growth within an organisation. 

    This is a remote role with travel across the Northern region (Sheffield up to Newcastle, and across to Merseyside) and you will live within this area. You will be a visible presence across the company offices, client sites and potential customer sites. The salary is £60,000 – £70,000 depending on experience, £6,000 car allowance and up to 15% bonus (based on company and personal targets).


    Duties and responsibilities

    – Lead growth across the North through business retention and new business acquisition
    – Achieve profitable growth through focus on Key Account Management and Priority Growth Customers
    – Provide leadership across the region to coordinate pipeline and key account management activity, working with other BDM’s and the Regional Management Teams
    – Establish win work best practice across the region creating a strong win work community
    – Play an active part in bids, both quality-based tenders and commercial bids
    – Involved in identifying, prioritising and winning local opportunities across the region
    – Ensure winning bid strategies are in pace for selected opportunities
    – Support the tender process for opportunities, both in quality and from a commercial perspective
    – Use customer feedback and partake in regular win/loss reviews to celebrate success or ensure that lessons learnt are embedded. Use this approach to help drive continuous improvement in the region
    – Actively engaged in implementing the regional business retention and new business acquisition plans. Undertake customer satisfaction and drive NPS reporting
    – Assess opportunities to identify key customers and key target areas to develop a broad and appropriately balanced client base linked to the regional strategy
    – Ensure regular feedback from operations is sought that can be used to develop the regional strategy for wining work and growth
    – Coach and develop the teams within the region, engaging and motivating them to achieve and be highly productive, allowing multiple relevant individuals in the region to proactively win work
    – Be a point of contact for the region for expert advice on sales and bidding excellence and technical skills

  • Commercial Assistant

    I am currently recruiting for a Commercial Assistant for one of my clients in Chesterfield. This role is full time office based, working 9am – 5:30pm with a 30-minute break. Salary is £26,000 – £32,000 dependant on experience.

    This role would suit a commercial assistant who has experience assisting commercial, bids/marketing and project managers with routine tasks. You will have excellent time management, be able to prioritise effectively and have strong communication skills.

    About the role

    • Monitor incoming and outgoing correspondence under your control and ensure this is effectively communicated to the applicable people within the business and actioned accordingly
    • Ensure all pertinent and important documentation is stored and organised on the company SharePoint system under Commercial
    • Assist with marketing activities
    • Process incoming commercial enquiries and either handle or forward to management as appropriate
    • Ensure enquiry and tender trackers are regularly updated and accurately maintained
    • Maintain and update tender and enquiry folders, maintaining version control
    • Reviewing enquires and tenders, understanding requirements and deadlines, and distributing requirements to relevant teams
    • Assist with the preparation, formatting and submission of response to enquiries and tenders
    • Working with commercial, technical, SHEQ, legal, financial and other teams to gather necessary information, documentation and content required to support responses to enquiries and tenders
    • Coordinate internal team inputs and ensure deadlines are met
    • Consolidate sections and/or documents developed by others team members into the required tender/enquiry format, ensuring tender/enquiry documents are accurate, compliant, and formatted correctly
    • Working closely with the Bid Manager to develop and maintain the content library
    • Assist with the compilation of cost estimates and pricing documents
    • Liaise with suppliers and subcontractors to collect quotes and verify documentation
    • Daily data collection and tracking
    • Assist in maintaining the monthly operational cost tracker for use in Payment Applications (PAs)
    • Compile the necessary backing documentation for each PA
    • Help prepare and submit monthly Operational and Recharge PAs in accordance with the Invoice Procedure
    • Keep the PA/Invoice Register updated with all relevant details (PA number, description, value, invoice number, due date, and payment status)
    • Assist in preparing AFP forms for client approval, ensuring all required information is complete (project reference, AFP number, supplier details, quotation reference, estimated cost)
    • Track AFPs through their lifecycle, from preparation to client countersignature and procurement
    • Update and maintain the AFP Register accurately, ensuring each AFP is logged with supporting documents
    • File all AFP-related documents (form, supplier quotation, client approval, invoice) in the correct SharePoint folders
    • File invoices in the correct supplier and AFP folders, ensuring proper organisation and traceability and update AFP registers showcasing the relative AFP number with the associated PA and invoice number
    • Link each supplier invoice to the correct Payment Application in the PA Register
    • Assist with setting up and maintaining project management procedures and office workflows
    • Support the preparation of reports, presentations, and client updates as requested
    • Schedule and prepare for project meetings, including compiling agendas and taking minutes

  • Assistant Estimator OR Estimator

    I am currently working with a market leading tier 1 contractor who is looking for an estimator or assistant estimator. You will be joining a well-established team within an ambitious company.

    My client is considering assistant estimators (£28,000 – £38,000) or experienced estimators (£45,000 – £65,000), both levels also receive a car allowance. This is a hybrid role (3 days in the office) and can be based in Birmingham or Nottingham.

    Applicants must have a full UK driving licence (or equivalent), BSc or HNC level of qualification and CSCS qualification. For experienced estimators, my client is looking for someone with 3+ years experience within a tier 1 or tier 2 construction contractor (not house building). You must have a proven track record of pricing projects as the lead estimator and be able to run your own tenders.

    My client will consider applicants who are currently mid-way through an apprenticeship scheme (day release at university / college) who also have Maths and English GCSE’s. They will also consider quantity surveyors who wish to move into estimating but you must have had direct exposure to preconstruction.

    Duties and responsibilities
    – Support the pre-construction team in preparing tenders to secure projects, with a particular focus on competitive design and build tenders for both new build and refurbishment projects
    – Liaise with planners, design managers and bid managers to deliver innovative solutions
    – Obtain the most competitive quote by understanding current market trends
    – Identify and report on risk and opportunity, and scope and produce accurate net estimates
