    I am currently recruiting for a bid writer to join a leading technology company who operate mainly within the defence sector. This is a unique opportunity to join a well-established bid team, acting as their sole bid writer. This role can be remote, with monthly visits to either Cambridge or Lincoln. Hybrid working options are available should you live within a commutable distance and wish to be in the office more often.

    My client is looking for a self-starter with 3+ years bid writing experience. You must be confident managing subject matter experts and driving the written process. Experience writing bids within the defence, technology or government sectors is essential. All applicants must hold a British passport as you are required to go through SC clearance.

    Duties and responsibilities
    – Lead content planning and storyboard sessions with bid teams and key stakeholders
    – Translate complex technical input into clear, structured responses aligned to evaluation criteria
    – Work with subject matter experts to extract knowledge through interviews and workshops
    – Support Bid Managers in shaping proposal structure, win themes and response strategy
    – Identify and adapt relevant pre-written material where appropriate
    – Develop and maintain high-quality exemplar responses for future opportunities
    – Edit and refine contributions from across the business to ensure clarity and consistency
    – Deliver completed responses to agreed deadlines and escalate risks where needed
    – Support colleagues in developing strong bid writing practices
